Pharrell’s first Louis Vuitton collection (Chess Messenger in Damier Pop)

I know the Speedy P9 gets most of the attention whenever people talk about Pharrell’s first collection for Louis Vuitton, but I honestly think the Chess Messenger deserves a lot more love.

What I appreciate most is that it doesn’t feel like a bag designed just to be flashy. The silhouette itself is inspired by the iconic Damier pattern, which is a clever way of reinterpreting one of Louis Vuitton’s oldest house codes instead of simply printing another monogram everywhere

Underrated pieces in your collection

I don't see this pouch talked about very often, but it's become one of my favorite Louis Vuitton pieces. The iridescent camouflage print on the Monogram Eclipse canvas gives it a completely different personality depending on the lighting!

Sometimes it's deep blue, other times you catch flashes of purple, teal, and even hints of gold. In a lineup of LV pieces that are instantly recognizable, this one feels a little more unique.

It has the classic Monogram Eclipse base but with an artistic twist that you don't see every day.

Anyone else here own one of LV's more uncommon canvas designs? I'd love to see them!

Reunited with my old bag after years apart… and it still hits different

Years ago, I owned the Speedy 35 Damier Ebene that was basically my daily driver. It went everywhere with me—work, travel, errands, random weekends out.

Eventually, life happened and I sold it.

At the time, it felt like the practical thing to do, but I always missed it. I’ve owned other bags since then, some arguably “better” and definitely newer, but none of them gave me the same feeling.

Recently, I decided to repurchase a Speedy 35, and the moment I held it again, I remembered exactly why I loved it so much.

Maybe it’s nostalgia. Maybe it’s because the Speedy 35 was with me during a specific chapter of my life. Or maybe it’s because some bags just have that magic that trends can’t replace.

What’s funny is that when I first owned it, I took it for granted because I carried it every day. Now that I’ve come full circle and bought it again, I appreciate everything about it—the shape, the slouch, the simplicity, and how effortlessly it works with literally anything.

It feels less like buying a bag and more like being reunited with an old friend.

Anyone else ever sold a bag they thought they were over, only to end up buying the exact same one again years later?
