I really want to start a new life in college and I feel that this is the only opportunity that I can truly remake myself. However I fear that if I go random, I’ll have a roommate that has a lot of drama and is weird

I’m currently committed to UCSD but I have until May 8th to commit to UCLA. I never thought I was good enough to get waitlisted nonetheless accepted so I actually don’t know much about UCLA lol.
For context, I’m not premed but my goal is to become a cancer researcher. I’m also thinking of minoring in like business so I feel like LA is better for that. I think UCSD has more opportunities for research but the connections and social life at LA are undoubtedly better. I’m ~80% sure I’m gonna commit to LA since it’s better overall but what so ygs think?
