Adding trackmark using iOS Shorcuts app (apple music recording with Toslink adapter)

I am currently testing of utilizing ios shortcuts to add trackmark while optical recording apple music lossless through usb-c toslink adapter. Adding gap between songs are not supported by the music app. But, in iOS, the Shortcuts app can play the playlist and add some play pause actions. The initial idea was just add 2-3 s gaps, but that sometimes added additional track marks. So, I switched audio output from usb-C to iphone while pause then switch back to usb-C adapter so that the adapter cuts optical signal and the recorder recognize that.

I am using NF610 (unfortunately, the usb died) and just had some success for 3-5 songs.

Here is the current Shortcut setup (AI generated). You will need to specify the playlist and start in the Shortcut app not music app.

The Shortcut Logic & Setup

Create a new Shortcut named "AutoTrackMark" and build it using these exact action blocks:

  1. **Get Playlist (**Search for Get Playlist (it will say "Get songs from playlist")
    • Set to: [Your Playlist Name]
  2. Add the Repeat with Each loop
    • Search for Repeat with Each. This places a bracket container around your script.
  3. Repeat with each item in Playlist
    • Get Details of Music: Set to fetch the Duration of Repeat Item.
    • Search for Play Music. Drag it beneath Repeat with Each. Make sure it says: Play Repeat Item
    • Wait [Duration] seconds (Tap the number area and choose the "Duration" variable from step 3a, It will have the Music app icon)
    • Change Playback Destination: Set to **iPhone (**Search for "Change Playback Destination" or "Set Playback Destination". Add it here and set it to iPhone (instead of your USB-C adapter).)
    • Wait 2 second (search for Wait )
    • Change Playback Destination: Set to your USB-C adapter.
  4. End Repeat

Search for actions and drag it in side repeat loop.

p.s.

  1. First disc successful (34 songs of K-pop)
  2. I had made another recording but this time, some tracks were separated for initial 1s and remainder. This happens when song starts with low volume (like start with quiet piano, or the previous track has quiet fade out). I think this is due to the recorder adds track mark when there exist silent 2s. With the start of optical input signal two track marks are created. I reduced the 2 s wait to 1s and resolved this issue in some tracks but not all.
