Until we meet again.
An eternity with you wouldn't be enough, but I know you had an amazing 14 years.

Hi guys! I'm collecting letters about how Ren and the Ren community have impacted you. If you'd like to submit your story, you can send it nastycrabcakes@gmail.com.
All stories will be posted anonymously and this is an ongoing project, so there's no time requirement to share 💛. They'll be posted to nastycrabcakes.com as they are received.
Big love

It was wonderful to meet so many Renegades, if a little overwhelming at times. I handed out all of my stickers to Renegades and Clikkies alike, and everyone was so sweet when I spoke to them.
I hung back a bit during the shows rather than trying for barricade because I've seen TØP live several times and wasn't up for waiting extra long to get a good spot. Still enjoyed both sets, as well as Hot Milk and PVRIS.
All in all, it was an insane experience. I'm so glad I made it!
Come and say hi! I'll have some assorted stickers on me, but mostly these guys!
Oh my mind it often wanders To the darkest part of the wood Steps off the beaten path to ponder, As Frost implied we should
It stops to smell the flowers That bloom in shadowed nooks And lazes among fronded ferns Grown thick beside babbling brooks
The path grows ever darker As branches choke out light And quiet stills the whispering wind Until the forest is as night
My mind it travels further Until brambles tear at skin And the path turns sharp and twisted-- A maze that makes it spin
It stops to smell the flowers Now smothered by the moss Half-decayed and rotting Steeped in shadow and loss
My mind it starts to falter Caught within the forest’s grip And measures its steps carefully For fear that it might slip
It turns in all directions Tangled thick in thorn and web And draws deep breaths in slowly Until the fear begins to ebb
The thunderous quiet lessens And birds begin to caw Great beasts of black and oil slick, They swarm the forest’s maw
They bite at branch and bramble And beat away the moss Parting forest canopy With wings and beaks and claws
Cool moonlight washes over me And floods the forest path While crows hold back the branches Inviting me to pass
My mind retraces footsteps Now bathed in dappled light Revealing a straight and narrow path Whose end is within sight
The path less traveled beckons But wander it with care For if you stray too far off course You'll be trapped within its snare
I wrote this a couple of years ago. I hope you like it 🫶.
She'll be 14 in September. Yesterday on our walk she chased some pigeons. Today at the park we played a gentle game of fetch.
I can't believe I've been memeing Ren and team for over 3 years now. Honestly so grateful to have this outlet of creativity as an escape from my exceptionally boring life ☺️.
I wrote this almost three years ago for Ren. I think it's been shared around the community and was previously shared in a Ren sub, but that was many moons ago 😊.
A few weeks ago, I thought it was the end for Panda. She could no longer use her back legs (almost at all), and she was so stressed all the time. She's almost 14, so my hopes of recovery weren't high.

Well... she still can't walk much. But she's been trying really hard and can make it all the way from the living room to the kitchen without falling over on good days. She's been on Prednisone for about a month but we're starting to taper off and try to get her back on an anti-inflammatory medication.

But the thing that's made all the difference is her wheelchair! It provides just enough support that she can walk, and it's been a game-changer for both of us. She can do her business independently, and--more importantly--we've resumed walks!

It's amazing how fast she moves in this thing. Sometimes her back right leg starts to drag because she's moving too fast, but she's got a shoe to protect her toes. She's so much happier now that she can move about, too.

I know at this age, every day is a blessing, but she still wants to move forward. As long as that's what she wants, I'm going to do my best to help her keep going.
I don't know how much longer I have with Panda. She's at the point that she can't walk using her back legs at all. We're going to acupuncture and laser therapy, but today's treatment is definitely less effective than last week's.
We're training with the wheelchair, but she's almost 14 years old and I suspect she has other underlying health issues. It's so hard watching my beautiful girl struggle. Harder still to watch her keep trying to move forward, because it gives me hope that she hasn't given up.
I got Panda at six months old. We went to a pet store to pick up dog food for my other dog, Zachary (who passed last year 3 days before my birthday and just shy of 16 years old), and my husband spotted Panda.
It was love at first sight, and he didn't even like dogs. He tolerated my other dog, but Panda was a different story. We took her home for a trial period, and now it's 13 years later.
My husband and I are both in the military. We've moved several times over the years, and both dogs came with us to each new location. We've had adventures in Alaska, suffered through the humidity of Florida, and now we're in Colorado.
It hasn't always been easy. Husband and I have been separated many times, including this past year and some change. But Panda and Zachary helped us both get through periods when one of us was away.
I hate seeing Panda slow down, but I'm very conscious of her quality of life. My husband is only 10 hours away now (an improvement from 20 hours), so this weekend I'm taking Panda to him for a couple of weeks. I don't know if it will be goodbye yet, but if it is I'm glad he'll get to see her again.
She lived a really, really good life, but it still feels too soon to say goodbye. I don't have kids, so my dogs and my husband have been my life all this time.
Here's a photo of Panda when we got her and now. And one of Zachary, who was my perfect grumpy old man.
Hi guys,
In the past few months my dog Panda's (13.5F) mobility has really decreased. She had a (probable) pinched nerve a couple months ago, but recovered to about 90% of her previous ability.
However, over the past week she's begun to lose strength in her back legs. She's managed to get up and do her business, but she's having a really hard time and I'm very stressed trying to figure out the best way to care for her. Her spinal discs show advanced arthritis, which isn't unexpected, given her age, and she had both cruciate ligaments repaired when she was about 5.
I have a Help 'Em Up harness arriving tomorrow and a vet appointment Monday, but I think she's going to need a wheelchair and would like to get any advice on chairs and pain management tips. She does not appear to be in extra pain (she's currently on Rimadyl, Amantadine, and Gabapentin), and her appetite is healthy.
As hard as this is, she's signaling strongly that it's not the end, so I want to make sure she is as happy and comfortable as possible in her golden years.
Any and all tips are appreciated.
