Live-in Caregivers (non-family)

Does anyone have any experience with live-in caregivers? I am considering offering accommodation (separate space in a large home) and a set 15-20 hours per week to someone who could provide assistance to my 90+ year old mother. Basic care, eg medication reminders, meal prep of provided meals, assistance with laundry. accompanied doctor appointments, light housekeeping (mainly the bathrooms).

My mother is fairly self-reliant but at nearly 93 and following complications from a pacemaker procedure can no longer live fully independently. She has a stable support network of family and friends but needs someone who can provide occasional assistance. She bathes, dresses and toilets independently. Some cognitive challenges with memory, but otherwise she’s fully aware.

Anyone who has been in a similar situation of either the live-in caregiver or has/had such a caregiver, I would gladly welcome your advice and experience.
