Separate pool/gym facilities
I’m curious to know how people feel about separate pool/ gyms for men and women.
As a woman I avoid the swimming pool because I’d prefer not to get undressed in front of random men. Not because I’m ashamed of my body in any way, but because that’s a privilege I’d prefer to keep for my husband. I’ve heard other men at various times complain about going to the gym as there’s too many women there at that particular time of day. I know I’m not the only woman who feels this way about the pool because others have said to that they don’t go to the pool either because they’re too self-conscious or whatever.
I have seen separate gym and swimming facilities for men and women in other places that are popular with people who would otherwise avoid going. They are usually private facilities though.
I wonder how people in the town feel about this. Do you mind or not mind? Or would you go if there were separate facilities for men and women?
For clarity, it’s not the changing rooms I’m on about specifically but the whole walking about in a swimsuit in the pool area
