Whistler Fondo Forte Route Change for 2026
Email from WGF copied below:
The Ministry of Transportation and Transit has informed us that Cypress Bowl Road, where the Forte typically climbs to Cypress Mountain summit, is scheduled for pavement rehabilitation works around the time of this year's event, and availability cannot be guaranteed for a cycling event. As a result, we are changing the Forte route as follows:
- Forte riders will leave Stanley Park 5 minutes after the start of the St Regis Cup.
- Forte riders will follow the Gran Fondo route to Callaghan Valley Road, 15 km before the finish at Whistler, and summit to Whistler Olympic Park (WOP), past the iconic 2010 Olympic Nordic Ski Jumps (aid station at summit)
- Forte riders will descend from WOP and rejoin the Gran Fondo route to the finish line
- Callaghan Valley Road adds 24 km's with an average 4% grade
This year's updated Forte route provides the same sense of accomplishment with a fresh challenge!
