Columbus GA Food & Friends - Dinner for Singles This Week!

Good afternoon everyone! I'm holding an event this week for single men and women who want to hang out and make friends. (Not a dating event, just a social event.) I own the Columbus GA Food and Friends group on Facebook, founded about a month ago to help us make friends and have someone to go out and do things with.

On Wednesday, I'm doing the second group dinner at The Animal Farm in Uptown Columbus.

Event Details

The main theme of the group is a nice dinner, once every other week, that anyone in the group is welcome to come out for. I also post events throughout the week that I find across Facebook that I'm interested in and would love to have others join me in doing. As the group grows, I'm hoping more people post more things and we can all make friends along the way!

Springer Opera House Ghost Tour - Friday May 29

Good morning Columbus! I run a new group for meeting friends called Columbus GA Food & Friends (30+) on Facebook. Last night I was looking through things happening in Columbus and saw where the Springer Opera House posted a "special" ghost tour for Friday, May 29 @ 8PM. It's being hosted by Paul Pierce, the guy who wrote the actual book on ghost at The Springer.

I bought a ticket immediately as I've always wanted to take the ghost tour. It was $31 after fees. I also posted it to my group.

I'm wondering if anyone else out here wants to go, too? Maybe we can get together beforehand, grab dinner Uptown, then go to this? I'm really excited to go, but it'd be even better with a few more people.

Good morning!

I recently posted about having a hard time meeting other people as a single, middle-aged adult here in Columbus. The responses were fantastic! I've been out 2 weekends in a row, had a lot of fun, and even started my own FB group to help other people like me do the same thing:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/columbusgafoodandfriends

It's aimed at singles aged 30 and up, and I'm focusing on just being social and making friends. I will be posting 1 dinner event every other week so that everyone can plan ahead, and I'll also be sharing events around town I curate from a lot of Columbus FB pages and groups relating to fun things to do where I'd love to have someone to go with.

Last night was the first dinner event:

I had a great meal and got to try out rooftop dining Uptown. The weather was great and I enjoyed myself.

I'd love to see more people joining up and let's start having some fun together!

Hey everyone! I posted a week or two ago looking for things to do in Columbus to make friends. Yall were incredible with the responses and I've suddenly gone from being a total hermit to having been out this weekend and last weekend and meeting people. It's been fantastic!

I've noticed a few more people posting here that they're looking for ways to meet people as well. I created a public Facebook group this week to help me and anyone who wants to meet people... meet people.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/columbusgafoodandfriends

I'm aiming it at single adults mostly since it seems we have a harder time meeting people than people in relationships. It's not a dating group, though. The whole idea is to attract other people and make friends.

The idea is that I'll post a restaurant somewhere in the Columbus area with a date and time and then show up. For example, the very first one will be on Tuesday, May 5, at Nonic from 6-8PM.

I'm also posting other events around town that I'm going today. Today I found a board games event at the Brick & Mortar cafe in Old Town. I had so much fun and met 5 people I didn't know existed, and I'm going to the next one in 2 weeks.

I'd love to see more people! Feel free to join the group. If you know of things you'd like to go to, but don't have anyone to go with, post them to the group and someone might join you.

Thanks all!

I'm a 48 year old white man, newer to Columbus, and I can't figure out where to go to meet people. I have no local friends, no wife/kids, and I'm going absolutely bonkers trying to figure out where to meet other singles. I'm looking for friendship, dating, game nights, eating out... whatever. I'm not into drinking or church, which are the only two things I've really found to do here. I have to be missing something, right?

I live downtown, and I've been to Market Days, but didn't really see anyone that was approachable... everyone seemed to have partners or families. I'm not the most social guy so I probably missed social queues. Also, I work remote, so there's no coworkers I can even ask... they're all out of state.

Help!
