Fishing In Clermont Area

Howdy everyone, my wife and I just recently bought a house up north of lake minneola. We moved from east orlando. I like to go pond / lake hopping after to work to wind down and I cannot seem to catch many fish in the ponds / lakes over here.

For starters, I’d say about 90-95% of all bodies of water over here are either private, no shoreline access, or has grass / lillypads 100 feet out from the bank. I’ve driven around to probably every single body of water in all of Minneola and clermont and have found maybe 3-4 fish able ponds and lakes.

On top of the lack of spots it really feels like bass just aren’t as hungry on this side of the city. Back in east Orlando you could find 2-4 retention ponds and lakes per neighborhood that were fully cleared out (most of them even had Gazebos or something built for fishing) and I’d go out to any given one of them and catch 3-4 bass within an hour or so.

In west Orlando the only spots I’ve found are sunset lake, center lake, sparkling water lake, and east lake all in downtown clermont. I’ve also enjoyed fishing lake palatlakaha from the bridge near the Baptist church. Out of all of those places I have caught 3-4 fish in center lake (by the living hope church) in a total of maybe 4-6 hours, and NO fish at all at any other body of water in maybe 15-20+ total hours of fishing.

Aside from center lake, anybody have and good suggestions for spots? I am willing to drive pretty far I don’t mind. Also, FYI I have been using Texas rig senkos, spinnerbaits, top water frogs, and chatter-baits so far. Although I have only ever caught anything over here on the Texas rig senko.
