Need help identifying correct water pump for 1967 Fiat 238
I’m trying to source the correct water pump for my 1967 Fiat 238 and keep getting sent the wrong part.
The van has the early OHV-style engine with oil bath air cleaner, not the later 238 setup most vendors seem to assume.
The original pump has:
- one long outlet neck
- asymmetrical casting
- integrated housing design
- side hose connection
The replacement pump I received is completely different geometrically and will not fit the engine or hose routing.
Does anyone recognize this exact pump or know:
- the correct Fiat part number
- what engine family this is from
- whether this is actually a Fiat 1100T / early 238 crossover setup
- a supplier/rebuilder that may have one
At this point I’m wondering if rebuilding the original is the better route.
Any help from vintage Fiat commercial vehicle people would be hugely appreciated.
