3D printed side panel bulge - any solution?

I'm just curious if theres a way to design and print a side panel that wont bulge like this when screwed down. I've tried ABS and PETG, same result. I also printed a panel with enlarged screw holes (my theory was that the screws were biting into the plastic and pushing it outside) but same results everytime.
