Day after tomorrow…

I’m scheduled for left anterior THR. Had right done in ‘18 so I know the process. Have everything ready for recovering at home… but I’m soooooooo anxious. I’m trying super hard to calm down— but having rough time.

What suggestions do you all have for getting thru your final 24 hrs before surgery?

And is there anything else you’d suggest for making recovery easier— the “oh, I wish I thought of that,” stuff.

Thanks in advance. 🤞🏼

I’m getting VERY anxious.

2 months post 🦷🦷🦷🦷

Had all 4 removed just over 2 months ago. Recovery was as expected. The cheek ice pack thingy was key! Ditto for syringes for rinsing and a super soft toothbrush).

What has me weirded out now— my tongue regularly goes back to where my bottom left WT was and it feels bumpy— not smooth like the other spots.

No pain. No itch or irritation. Totally a texture thing. Almost like a stitch is still there!!!!

Anyone else notice this? Just curious if other folks have noticed similar!

Thanks!

I found a new pen!!!

Does anyone else get excited about writing utensils for school? Many years ago, I noticed one of my students had a super thick mechanical pencil— .9– and she kindly gifted one to me. I’ve been obsessed ever since. I love finding new pens and pencils!

I’m starting out this fall with new wipeboard pens, and super thick ballpoints. Gonna sew myself a new pen bag too.

You? 🖊️🖋️✏️

Jessica: way too needy

I feel like when she met John, she moved WAY too fast. She met John: and was like — woohoo! Better nail that down ASAP. I feel like she acted like a love crazed teen at times.

First her shoe closet expectations!! Eww! Then the pregnancy. Then let’s get pregnant… and wanting his answers ASAP.

Her needs vs his every time. And she made him feel bad for not wanting what she wanted. Couldn’t even take a beat to understand his perspective of being newly divorced and wanting to succeed at his career.

Thoughts?

Does anyone else feel like they were run over by a bus?

62yo. Had all 4 removed on Thursday. I’ve been resting since. Taking my meds. Sleeping as much as possible. Eating soft stuff or liquids.

And I’m soooo weak. Hands are shaking. I’m exhausted after walking my dogs. Have already lost 5 lbs. Stomach is a mess.

Anyone else? Anyone been thru this and can offer advice re: getting back to normal?
