Name change upon moving to France
Maybe someone might have a solution for my problem. I've been married to my French husband for 18 years, and legally changed my name to his surname 18 years ago. It has been my legal name ever since in both the US and Canada. Now that I'm in France, all of my documents are in my maiden name (driver's license, health card). I find it incredibly upsetting for 2 reasons. First, I feel like my name and identity have been taken away from me. Secondly, I grew up in an abusive household, and my birth name is a cruel reminder of that. Is there anything that I can do?
