Ever since the leak came out that Murciélago was getting an anime, I've seen this sentiment that the only Yuri anime we've been getting are ones by problematic/bigoted male authors or works that fetishize lesbians. You would think only Green Yuri and Kimishinu are the only decent Yuri by decent authors we have coming up, and that nothing else was good. But if you look at what's come out recently and what's coming in the future, the majority are from female authors, and only one or two of these would I say has "questionable" or "problematic" content.

Context for those who missed the original post this is referencing: A user made the accusation that the author of Kamiina Botan was being flamed online for bookmarking and supporting art of characters from his manga being "rape corrected" & sexually assaulted, and in their own words, "much worse" het nsfw art that they apparently deleted.
Before I talk about the context surrounding this, let me immediately address the accusation. First off, there is only one piece of drawn het nsfw art currently on pixiv. You can search right now and filter for it. There is AI het slop, but it's irrelevant because the author does not bookmark and has never bookmarked AI art. This single piece of het art is not rape, and is not tagged with anything related to rape, or lesbian rape conversion. This het art is also still in the authors bookmarks. The claim he deleted anything is a lie.
Now to the main topic, why did this even come up? This all started with a tweet the author made regarding fan-works, and his stance on policing them.

Sometime later, a chinese fan brings up the bookmark of the het artwork.

This is also brought up and spammed by a few other chinese users, although some are obviously using burners. There's some small fighting between chinese fans, and some Japanese fans get in the mix, but it eventually dies down. Although he does directly respond to one of them eventually, to ultimately clarify that yes, Kamiina Botan is a GL work.

It should be noted that this is all about two days old, and there wasn't any bigger backlash from this. The new episode of the anime came out right after this, and it even trended in Japan with universal praise, which makes the claim that the author was being flamed when the original thread this is referencing was posted odd.
I want to also briefly discuss the work itself. There's a screenshot floating around of the author apparently saying that the manga isn't Yuri. But context is important. It's from FIVE years ago, which was very early on in the story, when he didn't really have a set direction of where it was going. It very much starts off as just the characters getting drunk and flirting, which probably made him hesitate to label it as Yuri. But sometime later in the manga, the romantic elements ramp up, and the main characters start dating officially. There's also the other side couples which are established.
So if your fear is the work being bait, it isn't. The OP who made the original thread kept insisting that the story was gonna end with botan and the others dating guys, which made 0 sense. There are no men in the story, and the couples are already established.
