2026 RS3 – Rear brake groan only when slowly releasing the brake at creep speed?

I have a 2026 US-spec Audi RS3 with about 400 miles on it.

I've noticed a repeatable noise that only happens under a very specific condition, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

How to reproduce:

  • Car has been sitting overnight (cold start is when it's most noticeable)
  • Shift into Drive or Reverse
  • Press the brake firmly until the car is completely stopped
  • Slowly release the brake pedal just enough to let the car start creeping
  • As soon as the car begins to move, I hear a "grr/grr/groan" noise that seems to come from the rear of the car
  • I can also feel a slight feedback through the brake pedal

It does NOT happen:

  • During normal driving
  • During normal braking
  • During moderate or hard braking
  • If I release the brake normally instead of creeping

Once the brakes warm up, the noise becomes much less noticeable.

The car drives perfectly otherwise:

  • No warning lights
  • Brakes feel normal
  • No vibration while driving

Has anyone with a 2025 or 2026 RS3 experienced this?

If you took it to Audi, what was the diagnosis? Was it considered normal brake stick-slip/brake groan, or did they replace or adjust anything under warranty?

I'll attach a short video showing the noise.

Thanks!
