ASL grabs onto the work of others, just like in LA

Why does it bother me so much that as soon as other people begin a worthwhile effort regarding the activities of Scientology that are detrimental to a community, Aaron Smith Levin shows up late to the party? It really really bothers me that he has inserted himself into the Save the Garden group that is working to get the giveaway of a public Clearwater street to Scientology onto a ballot so that Clearwater voters can make the decision on that issue. As soon as ASL saw the live streamers in LA coming out, making a difference, and even making some money, he flies out to LA to get in on the action. People were doing a great job of stopping recruitment without his “help”. We all know the nonsense that he got up to while in LA, and the problematic LA people that he spotlighted at the time. So, here he goes again, inserting himself into something worthwhile, that never crossed his own mind because he’s never had any original ideas about how to stop Scientology’s physical expansion in Clearwater. Trouble shows up with this guy. He shows himself on video harassing people, assaulting people, and even while on probation, he seems to think it’s cute to illegally park, and then race away giggling from a tow truck. If it’s possible for him to do something stupid that messes up gathering signatures, he’s the guy who can do it. There are legal ways to collect signatures, and illegal ways to collect signatures, and I’m really worried that because signature gatherers can be paid for this work, he might try some sort of profit sharing, if you get my drift, because he will get paid for each signature. You can bet that there is going to be a lot of scrutiny on both the signatures, and the gatherers. Am I crazy to be very anxious about this?

ASL- Is this his Long Day’s Journey Into Night?

Are we there yet? Has Aaron Smith Levin’s long run of being the anti Scientology “darling” of so many thousands of internet viewers coming to an end?

I’ve thought so before. Many of us in California thought that after this ignorant pretender’s performance at the Masterson trial in Los Angeles almost resulted in a mistrial because he apparently thought it was “okay” to “confront” somebody in the courthouse, just outside of the actual courtroom where the trial was being held, that this revelation of what a click bait fool he actually was would be enough to wake up even the most ardent admirer to see his actual personality, rather than the one he created for social media.

You know that guy! The smiling, bald, affable dad of little girls who was always having a “great day” now that he was free from Scientology! The guy who was going to be his viewer’s personal “journalist” in LA, standing with the victims beside his celebrity friend, Leah Remini. He was hip, he was cool, he was righteous, and he was still red faced stoned from being only a few hours away from the alcohol and drugs that he shared with a vulnerable woman he decided to hook up with. The same woman he injured on his way to the courthouse, still angry about the cut on his foot caused by a broken glass in the room he brought her to not far from the courthouse.

Now that a couple of more years have passed, are we done with him now? Is he obnoxious enough yet, with his “Married With Girlfriends” show, his jail time, and his battery conviction? Do we have to wait for him to get a divorce? Please Lord, not that.

What say you?

Scientology amicus accepted by appeals court in Masterson trial!

This morning I read a Scientology amicus brief, written on behalf of Danny Masterson, that appears on Tony Ortega’s Substack. It heavily criticizes Judge Olmedo, attempting to prove her “illegal“ “bias” against the religion of Scientology, which in turn, they claim, swayed the jury unfairly, and illegally. To keep it short here, it claims that Claire is not a COS expert, but is rather a 20 year anti-Scientologist who had been kicked out of her last position in Scientology; that Judge Olmedo dealt lightly with ASL after he started a ruckus with a man wearing a cross out in the hallway because of her bias against Scientology; and it cited chapter and verse of Scientology publications to prove that “Fair Game” had not been a thing since 1967, and attempting to prove that everything that Claire said as an “expert“ was wrong. The basis of each argument made (there were quite a few!) was attempted proof of religious bias throughout the court proceedings. And that’s what really upsets me! So long as Scientology carries that legal definition of being a “religion”, it has numerous legal benefits that protect it from serious scrutiny, and effectively permits things such as financial fraud and elder abuse. Some of the points made in the amicus might actually be valid, simply because of the “religion“ designation.

How can we ever turn this around? And how did it ever happen in the first place, without somebody being nabbed for taking a pay of? At the time, people were aware of Hubbard’s background of false valor, and spouse and child abuse. His crimes had been all over newspapers! He wrote fiction, and made up a fictitious “religion”. Once given this legal definition of “religion” in America, how do we demote Scientology so it can take it‘s rightful place as a criminal cult?
