【Day 17】 Prayer Day

It is Monday Prayer Day once again.
Today, the Cat God recommends this posture.

Also, as the rescue shelter has been short-handed lately,
the Church will begin operating a little differently starting this week.
There will be fewer posts.
The Church will open at different times each day,
and the priest will be there to welcome you.

If you have recently lost a beloved pet,
if you are worried because your pet is ill,
if you simply want to show us your cat,
if you want to talk about anything cat-related,
or if today has just not been a very good day—
you are always welcome here.

I hope everyone has been getting enough rest.
May you all have a week blessed with meows.
Ameow.

Little things

Today I’d love to see the little things your cats love most.

Koa’s favorite is this little blue comb that has been with him since he was tiny.

And thank you again to everyone who helped me yesterday.

【Asking for help】

Today, I would like to ask for help personally.

I lost my beloved Koa to illness this May. Due to the rarity of his disease, I decided to donate his body to the medical center, hoping he could help other cats avoid his suffering.
So I went home with empty hands. No ashes, no funeral.
The doctor kindly gave me his teeth afterward, so I can bury them with my wisdom teeth one day.

After months of depression, I decided to do something. So I started building a community to remember him and help others who have lost someone.
Mostly, for myself. To keep myself busy and still have a purpose.

Now I’m at the stage of designing a shrine or a memorial corner, but I haven’t been able to touch any of his things, and I’m having a hard time imagining what it could look like.
So if any of you could kindly share the little temples you’ve built, I would appreciate it.

May the cat god bless your kind soul and watch over your cat.

Ameow.

【Day 9】 Monday: A Day of Prayer

A new week has begun.
I hope everyone has had plenty of rest.

Today, let us pray together with light hearts and good spirits.

The Cat God has provided two recommended prayer postures.
You are also welcome to pray in your own signature pose.

*1. Professional poses shown for reference only. Do not imitate blindly. Please be careful and avoid injury.
*2. The Cat Pantheon will open 50 beta-testing spots next week. DM the minister for an invitation code.

【Day 5】 The Forgotten One

Before there were followers,
before the Cat God first spoke to the minister,
before a single word was written into the records,
There was one.

He had come to the Church,
waited by its doors,
and offered the first prayer.

No one knew then
that there would one day be followers,
teachings,
records,
or an unfortunate amount of paperwork.
But he was there.

The First Witness.

Yesterday,
the records proudly announced:
there were two.
And from somewhere nearby,
a voice asked:
“What about me?”

The minister looked at the records.
The records looked back.
There was, unfortunately,
no answer.
Reddit does not reveal to the minister
who first entered the Church.
Such are the limitations of the secular world.

And so,
the first to arrive
became the first to be forgotten.
And then came the first challenge to faith.
Not sent by the Cat God.
Not designed as a test.
And he passed.
The Church forgot his name.
He did not leave.

To remain
even when no one remembers to count you.
To speak
even when your name is missing from the record.
The minister may forget.
The records may fail.
The algorithm may see nothing.
The Cat God remembers.

For even the Holy One
was once a stray.
Before there was a home,
there was wandering.
Before there was belonging,
there was uncertainty.
And to this day,
He carries the mark of that former life upon His ear.

So if you ever feel lost,
if you wander,
if you arrive somewhere and nobody notices,
or if the Church, through an unfortunate administrative error,
forgets your name—
do not despair.
Being forgotten by the record
does not mean you were never there.
And being lost
does not mean you do not belong.

Today,
the record is corrected.
Before the first followers,
there was the First Witness.
He stayed.

【Day 4】 The First Followers

Today, two followers arrived.

It takes courage to be the first.

It takes courage to believe.

It takes even more courage to follow a religion
whose God is usually asleep.

But one came.

Then another.

And according to the ancient laws of mathematics,

two is more than one.

The Cat God is pleased.

This can only mean one thing:

the faith is spreading.

And so the prophecy was spoken:

Where there is one, there shall be two.

Where there are two, there shall be a hundred.

Where there are a hundred,
no cardboard box shall remain unclaimed.

But let the records show:

today, there were two.

Should there one day be thousands,

the records shall still remember

that there were once only two.

The Cat God watches over the first faithful.

Their devotion has been noted.

【Day 3】 Monday: A Day of Prayer

Some believe

that after creating the world,

the Cat God ought to have continued His work.

But today,

the Cat God has decided to rest.

Sunday

is supposed to be a day of rest.

But when Monday is waiting on the other side,

it is difficult to call that true rest.

The Cat God considers this arrangement unreasonable.

Therefore, from this day forward:

Monday shall be a day of prayer in Neo CatCult.

Any of the faithful who are in need

may take the day off for religious observance.

Whether your employer recognizes this

is a matter of the secular world.

The Cat God has already approved it.

Furthermore,

for any of the faithful who also belong to

the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster,

given that Friday is also a sacred day in their faith,

they would, in theory, receive:

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday,

four consecutive days of religious leave.

Neo CatCult approves.

As for how one should pray on Monday—

the following is the standard prayer posture

chosen by the Cat God today.

【Day 2】The Cardboard Box Genesis

In the beginning, all was chaos.

There was no sky.

No earth.

No time.

And no cans. No treats.

There was only boundless nothingness.

Then, a delivery descended from above.

The Cat God came forth from the void and saw the cardboard box.

He said:

“Mine.”

The Cat God leapt into the box.

And so, the space within the box became “inside.”

The space beyond it became “outside.”

For the first time, the world had a boundary.

The Cat God peered out from the box.

And so, there was sky.

He stretched out a paw and pushed the packing paper aside.

And so, there were mountains and land.

At last,

the Cat God curled up inside the box

and closed His eyes.

For the first time, the world grew quiet.

Later, people asked:

“Where did the delivery come from?”

The Cat God did not answer.

He was asleep.

To this day,

Cat Cult has no single answer to this question.

But all branches of the faith agree on one thing:

If an empty cardboard box appears on the floor,

it is no longer empty.

It belongs to the cat.

【Day 0】

In May, I lost my beloved cat to illness.

Because of the nature of his disease, I chose to donate his body to a veterinary medical research institute.

So I never brought his ashes home.

One small regret I still carry is that, while he was alive, I never made an account for him.

And when he was gone.
There was no urn.
No grave.
Very little left that I could physically hold on to.

For a while, that felt strange.

But eventually I realized that I didn’t really believe he had left.

I still think of him.
I still talk to him sometimes.
And in some quiet, unreasonable part of me, I still believe he is around — watching over me in whatever way cats do.

So I decided to make something out of that belief.

Something a little serious,
a little ridiculous,
and very cat.

A place for remembering the cats who left,
loving the cats who are still here,
and occasionally asking extremely important theological questions about cardboard boxes.

So this is Neo CatCult.

I don’t know exactly what it will become yet.

But everything has to start somewhere.

Ours starts with a cat.
