Having some trouble 😔

Having some trouble 😔

I finally managed to find a self watering pot a few days ago and transferred Zetsu (my VFT) to it. But I woke up this morning and saw all his adult traps were starting to turn black. I snipped them but now I'm worried I might have overdone it. He's only got the green young traps left.

I don't know why his traps started turning black. My husband suggested it might have been because we've gotten a lot of rain last week so he got over watered.

I'm also concerned the pot I got may be too big. Should I go back and get something smaller?

I've made sure the soil is the appropriate type and have made sure to only give him rain water or distilled.

Let me know if I can still save my baby and how.

Thanks!

Zetsu the VFT

Finally fulfilled my childhood dream of getting a carnivorous plant to call my own. Pretty nervous about it, I've only been taking care of plants for a couple of years and I've had a few die on me, but I'm determined to make sure this one thrives. Been lurking around this subreddit to make sure I give it the best life possible. 💚

As I'm sure you can tell, it's already full to the point where it doesn't want to digest anymore, so I'll be sure to keep it moist. It's been very hot this summer so I'm diligently making sure it's watered.

Currently working on getting a proper pot for it so I can move it out of the plastic tub.

Named it after my favorite Naruto character.
