Has anybody had permanent work restrictions and turn them in at work and have waited to see if they can accommodate them it will be three weeks Monday and I have heard nothing whether they’re going to accommodate my permanent restrictions or let me go. Has anybody waited this long before?
a year and a half ago I had a comminuted displaced patella. I was off of work six months went back on late duty. I worked for six months light duty and only part-time work even though I was full-time and then in January of this year had a MRI and it showed ahead tears in my meniscus so in February of this year, I had hardware taken out from my fall at work last year and I had my meniscus trim down and both sides lateral and medial. I went back to work again in June of this year on light duty I just had an FCE test and got my results back. My orthopedic surgeon put me in permanent light duty. Has anybody ever got their job back with their kind of restriction I had a medium Job now I’ve been cut down to light duties. A lot of people say they will let me go. They won’t want to take me back because I am a high risk Workmen’s Comp.. Also the case management nurse administration from where I work are all supposed to have a meeting to see if they can find me a job what are my chances?
So I get a letter from the insurance company it said that the case management nurse on my case and my surgeon are having discrepancies whether I should go back to work with restrictions or not. She said I can go back to work full duty. My surgeon said I will more than likely have restrictions and that I should take the FCE test so now they sent all of my medical information to a orthopedic surgeon in New York City, which I live in Chicago who specializes in severe traumatic injuries to the knee. He looked over my medical and found that I should take the FCE test so it was finally approved. I can’t believe the insurance company would allow a nurse over a doctor to make the decisions.
