Recognize this moulding?

Does anyone recognize this moulding and can tell me who the vendor is and whether or not it has been discontinued?

The client wants us to add more to the collection and the original framer retired a few years back.

Completely non-invasive mounting.

For this job we had a special armature made that form-fits to the inside of the wooden mask and is anchored into the three existing holes at the base.

The armature is held in place by a single 3/4" thick rod that is welded to a 4" square metal plate and bolted through the 1/2" fabric wrapped plywood base.

The frame is 1/2" wide x 2 1/4' hand made frame with a 1 1/4" return. That left us with 1" for the 1/2" base and 1/2" strainer, as well at the 1/2" thick bolt in the back.

Sorry, I forgot to take a picture of the backside.

The frame is finished with our proprietary graphite grey finish.

Hanging hardware is a 1/2" thick wood clear that form fits to the strainer.

The linen fabric provided by Franks Fabrics.

I love getting to design jobs like this for clients.

Delicate teacups mounted to Lancer Shetland Linen fabric mat, hand fnnished 1 1/2" ebony wood spacers.

We didn't want to mount the teacups to the fabric because the weight would very likely pull the fabric away from the float board, so we cut small holes in the fabric so that we could silicone the saucers directly to the conservation board.

For this job we had Quattro make the 23k 5/8" x 3 1/2' frame with ebony walnut sides and splines.

And of course we topped it all off with some Museum Acrylic.

What is your "Little Black Dress" moulding?

That simple frame you reach for that makes every picture look great.

For me it is the Foster 700 Walnut with Medium or Dark Ebony Finish.

1/2" wide and comes with a 1 1/4" rabbet.

Simple, clean, sophisticated. It compliments and doesn't fight for attention with the art.

Looks great with photography, fine art, and pop art.

If you want to do a float, there's plenty of room for 1/2 rag spacers and a 5/16 strainer.

The key is being able to cut strainers and use them for your structural integrity.

IMHO, the 700W with an ebony finish will make your art "look great at every party."

So what is your "Little Black Dress"?
