Starting an LLC in Alabama, is it actually as simple as it looks online?

About to start a small landscaping business in Alabama and everyone keeps telling me to just form an LLC before I take on any real clients. Makes sense, I get the liability protection side of it.

But every guide I read makes it sound like a 10 minute process and I'm not sure I trust that. File with the Secretary of State, get a registered agent, get an EIN, done. Am I actually missing something or is Alabama genuinely that straightforward compared to other states?

Also wondering whether it's worth paying for a formation service or just handling it directly through the state website. The filing fee seems pretty low so I'm not sure what a service would actually add here.

Anyone who's done this in Alabama recently, how did it go?

LLC formation documents, trying to understand what paperwork I actually need before I start

About to start the LLC process for my small business and trying to get organized before I actually file anything. Keep seeing terms thrown around like articles of organization, operating agreement, EIN confirmation letter, and I want to understand what's actually required versus what's just good practice to have.

Is the articles of organization the only thing i technically need to file with the state or are there other required documents depending on the state? and is an operating agreement something i need from day one or can that come together after the LLC is already approved?

Also trying to figure out what I should be keeping organized and saved long term versus what's just part of the filing process and doesn't need to be referenced again. don't want to be scrambling for documents later when I need them for a bank account or a contract.

Would appreciate hearing from people who recently went through formation and what documents actually ended up mattering for you afterward. Thank you!

Trying to decide between Goldco and American Hartford Gold, has anyone used either?

Been doing a lot of research on gold IRAs lately and these two keep coming up as the main options. Both have decent reviews online, but I can't tell how much of that is genuine versus just reputation management and affiliate sites pushing whoever pays the highest commission.

What i specifically want to know is how the actual experience is, account setup, fees, how they handle storage, and whether the people you deal with feel like advisors or just salespeople trying to close you. that last part matters a lot to me.

If you've used either of these or looked seriously into both i'd really appreciate an honest take before i make any decisions. Thanks in advance!
