Mobile Swim School - Scottsdale, AZ

I lost my accounting job at the end of August. I also have three children - 7 year old son and boy/girl twins who will be 6 in December.

I’ve grow up around pools and my mom had all my sisters and me in lessons from the time we were babies. I was on a swim team in middle school and was on our local high school swim team. I joined a masters club when I first moved to AZ, but couldn’t afford to keep up with it as a college student. I love swimming and being in the water.

I’m interested in starting a mobile swim lesson company, since we don’t currently have a pool of our own. We were starting the process of getting a pool, but then I was laid off.

Living in Arizona, I see news stories and articles about children drowning every summer. It breaks my mama heart 💔.

I would LOVE to work with kids again (I was a nanny for years) and teach swim lessons and water safety. My plan is to take CPR, AED, and Lifeguard classes through Red Cross. I also saw they have a water safety instructor certification. I think I’d like to have that, too. Thoughts?

My question is, do you think a mobile swim company, where I go to clients homes/pools and teach in their pool, would be successful? I’d like to eventually have my own pool and teach from my home. Any tips to starting your own swim lesson business is much appreciated!
