Beware, Dragons in the Empire

After doing the diverging tree with Lucemon, I decided to do another one when another one of my favorite Digimon: Dracomon. At first I wanted to just make a giant tree of all the Dramon-type Digimon and find a way to link them up. but then I decided to go with something smaller. Then it hit me. I remembered a post a while back, of someone who had a story about a Ryudamon born from the data of a Goldramon and Megidramon, who died in a battle with each other. They had a tree that showed how each digimon's data affected portions of Ryudamon's digivolution tree, and I asked about if they thought of adding Holydramon and Azulongmon as living mentors that also give him branching Digivolutions due their influence.

So i decided it would be fun to have Dracomon digivolve into each off the Four Great Dragons. It did irk me that Azulongmon did not have the Dramon naming convention, but I got over it...kinda. I chose the closest Dramon-type Champions and Ultimates, as well as putting in Dracomon's Coredramon branches in as well. And that's what gave me this mess. Personally, I still wish there were better choices for some. not a fan of Holydramon Digivolving from Megadramon, but the English Dub name for Holydramon is Magnadramon. Both Mega and Magna sound similar, so it's helping me through it.

After I decided to do the same thing I did for Lucemon. I got 2 other of my favorite Digimon on the sides of the tree and tried to find good Jogress. This time I went for 2 Digimon that were counterparts to each other, like how Dracomon's 2 lines are counterparts. I always loved the PawnChessmon Since Data Squad and just put their basic lines for simplicity sake. And instead of using their Megas to Jogress with Dracomon's Megas, I chose to use the PawnChessmon Ultimates.

For Breakdramon and RookChessmon Black I chose the fitting Gundramon. A Machine Dramon-type like Breakdramon, that is also a Virus type. And the theme of the turrets of RookChessmon Black turning into the many gun that is part of Gundramon was perfect.

For Slayerdramon and BishopChessmon White, I had a harder time trying to find. I needed a more organic looking, more humanoid Dramon Mega for this. Possibly with a cape since BishopChessmon White has a cape, and Slayerdramon's wings look like a cape too. In the end, I chose UlforceVeedramon since he was the closest to a humanoid, has a blade on his wrist to reference Slayerdramon's sword, and has wings that kinda look like a cape. Even better that UlforceVeedramon is blue like the Slayerdramon line.

And that's my post for today. Once again another "Too Long" post. I just can't help myself. I'm still very open to any chances anyone can think of, especially for Dracomon's Champion and Ultimate choices. This is both so much fun and a living hell for my OCD. I have no TL;DR for this one. Sorry.

Edit: Whoops...I forgot to talk about the other Jogress. Just the basics. Slayerdramon and Breakdramon Jogress to make Examon. And for the Four Great Dragons, I just stole the fusion the the 4 Sovereigns cause Huanglongmon basically looks like a Dragon of some sort. Can't believe I forgot to talk about that...

Light in Life, Dark in Death

First time I'm posting something like this so here goes. Disclaimer: Using the spellings/names provided on the builder site.

I was originally going to just do a Lucemon Digivolution Tree of an idea I had when I first played Cyber Sleuth. In those games, Lucemon not only had his standard Digivolution line, but could also Digivolve into either Angemon or Devimon. So I wanted to make a tree exploring those branches.

Most of these branches I searched up on the Digimon Wiki and have been possible Digivolutions at some point in Digimon history. Tho, I did take some liberties. Namely, Angemon Digivolving into Hippogriffomon and the 2 DNA/Jogress Digivolutions. That aside, let me get into my reasonings for the tree.

First there's the standard Lucemon line. It's self-explanatory. I added Lucemon X specifically to balance the light and dark aspects since Lucemon X looks more light-based, while Lucemon Satan Mode looks more dark-based. This strictly talking about elements and not morality or sides. For all I know they could both be evil.

Now to the fun part: the light and dark branches. As said before, I originally got the idea of this tree because Lucemon could Digivolve into Angemon and Devimon in Cyber Slueth. However, I intentionally did not use them in the tree because I wanted something more unique. That's when I stumbled upon Pidmon and Devidramon. Pidmon being a one-pair-of-wings version of Angemon and Devidramon a more feral-looking version of Devimon. Made it even better that when I was researching them I found out that in the 2020 remake of Digimon Adventure, there was a scene of a Pidmon fighting a Devidramon. It was fate. And it set a new theme for the tree. Lucemon's light branch focuses more on humanoid forms, while their dark branch will be more bestial. It could also tell a story too. Pidmon having 5 pairs of wings less than Lucemon could be Lucemon losing some power because they strayed from his destined path to Satan Mode. As for Devidramon, They could be more animalistic because their severed connection from their destined path caused them mental strife that made their more feral instincts to take over.

It was even more of a sign of fate when I chose Cerberusmon to be the dark Ultimate. I remembered that it had a Mode Change in Werewolf Mode. And one of Lucemon's Ultimate choices in Cyber Sleuth was MagnaAngemon, who also had a Mode Change in Priest Mode. I said yes instantly. MagnaAngemon having more wings than Pidmon could be them regaining some of their original light powers, but they can't get all 6 pairs of wings back cause they are missing the other portion of their powers when they were Lucemon. Devidramon going to Cerberusmon is just them getting more animalistic. Not much more than that.

Before I went further, I had an idea. Why not give a Beast Digivolution for Light and a Human Digivolution for Dark? Had to be done. I chose Astamon for Devidramon because it was the perfect bridge from Devidramon to MagnaKidmon. And this was my first liberty I took. According to the Wiki, while Angemon has history of Digivolving into Hippogriffomon, Pidmon does not. So I said, they are nearly the same so I'll let it happen. And a perfect Mega for Hippogriffomon is Valdurmon.

As for the Megas for the primary branches, I chose Valkyrimon for the light Mega because that was the Mega I chose for my Lucemon in my playthrough of Cyber Sleuth. Also, them losing their wings again could be explained by the missing wings becoming the bird Valkyrimon has. As for the dark Mega, I chose GranDracmon cause it's bottom half is the closest looking to Cerberusmon's design I could find in terms of beast-like designs. Also, GranDracmon has 2 maws between his humanoid half and his beast half. Could be what happened to the 2 head-looking shoulder armors from Cerberusmon.

Before I get into the DNA/Jogress Digivolutions, I'ma briefly get into the 2 other Digimon I chose for the DNA/Jogress. Strictly speaking, at first the only reason why I chose the Palmon and Kermon line was because they are 2 of my favorite Digimon and Digivolution Lines. I even gave them branching Digivolutions for their Megas cause I wanted them to have a little more than just the standard. BanchoLilymon because Lilymon, and because she is my favorite Mega for the line. Sorry Rosemon fans. And Parallelmon cause, come on. Look at the design. It looks like it would be part of the line.

Finally, the DNA/Jogress Digivolutions. I'll start with, part of this was not my original plan for them. Yes, Ceresmon was an obvious option for a DNA/Jogress between BanchoLilymon and Valkyrimon. A nature fairy combining with an angel to become a Goddess of Nature. The bird from Valkyrimon could even grow to become the giant island bird part of Ceresmon. As for a DNA/Jogress for GranDracmon and Parallelmon, my first thought was Arcadiamon Mega. The body style of Arcadiamon Mega is very similar to Parallelmon, tho GranDracmon contributes minimally to it. But then I remembered that Ceresmon had an alternate form in Ceresmon Medium. And there was another Digimon, that has a connection to the Olympos XII, that also has an alternate form. The god of the Digital Underworld, Plutomon, and his alternate form, ZombiePlutomon. Plutomon has a color scheme similar to GranDracmon while having the bipedal design of Parallelmon, which made it make more sense as a DNA/Jogress. I also found it ironic that the base Light Jogress is more beast-looking and the base Dark Jogress is more humanoid.

And there we are. My first ever Digivolution Tree that I ever posted. And yes, I did everything I could to make the Digivolution Tree to be somewhat symmetrical because I have OCD. Let me know if anyone has any good ideas or any changes I should consider making.

TL;DR Lucemon tree with light and dark branches, and DNA/Jogress with Palmon and Keramon trees. Light is more humanoid. Dark is more Bestial, with some exceptions. Palmon and Keramon lines are there cause they are my favorites. Lots of coincidences and happy accidents later, got a semi-symmetrical tree in the end. OCD appeased.
