Winter questions

I have a 2023 Limited trim, and since gt's starting to consitently be around 10-15C every day, I'm just curious to know when everyone else typically turns on winter mode. I'm also wondering what people would recommend to buy for ev rated winter tires. Thanks!

How long does wheel of fortune take to fix?

Hello, I just want to say sorry if this is a dumb or rude question, but for those who have had it done, how long does it usually take to replace the gear reduction for the wheel of fortune noise? I've had my 2023 kona limited in the shop for a month now, and the 26 kona they gave me as a loaner is reminding me why I switched to EVs.

I've called a few times for updates, and gotten wildly different ETAs. Last week one person told me the gear reduction had been delivered and that the car should be done by end of week, and when I called again on Saturday I was told by someone else that there was actually 5 more parts they were waiting on, that had only just arrived the day before.

For context they are the only EV certified Hyundai servicer in the state, so I would understand if they get a lot of vehicles they have to service. Also, thankfully everything is under warranty, so the only thing I'm paying for is gas.

I want to apologize again if this is a bad question, this is both the first EV I've had and the first vehicle I have taken to a dealership service center, so I understand if this is just a normal amount of time to wait for something like this. I've only had my kona for a few months, so I already really miss it.

Thanks for helping!

First EV with almost 2k miles range

Reset my after recharging values just before going down a hill and saw this. I thought it was neat that my mi/kwh was better than most cars mpg

Possible wheel of fortune on 2023 lim?

Hello, a few months ago I got 2023 limited trim. Since, I have noticed a noise while accelerating, but I can't tell if it's the wheel of fortune noise.

When accelerating, theres a low sound that almost sounds like an ICE, but is quiet enough that it can't be noticed with climate turned up or music playing (though it can be heard clearly under hard acceleration). The noise is also absent when coasting and decelerating, both with brakes and regen. Its hard to tell, as I haven't fully been paying attention, but it almost seems to have gotten slightly louder over time as well.

Is this the "wheel of fortune" noise I should be worried about? I had thought it would be higher pitched, but this sound still kind of worries me. Also, if anyone wants me to record the sound I can try, though I've had some trouble figuring out how to do that in the past.

How to clean steering wheel buttons on 2023 Limited

Just replaced the 12V at yall's suggestion, now I'm wondering if you can help with another problem.

Since I got the car a couple months ago, the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel have been getting stuck and difficult to use. In particular, the downward motion on the rockers, and the bottom two buttons. They are quite "sticky", and sometimes don't move at all. It's bad enough that the cruise control rocker gets stuck going down, leading to a sudden slow down on the highway. The problem seems like a previous owner spilled soda or something, as the issue changes based on temperature, and the gear buttons are slightly sticky as well (though to a lesser extent.)

Mainly, I'm wondering if this is something that I could even feasibly service myself? Since the outside of the buttons are clean I'm worried that the internal mechanisms of the buttons have been gummed up. If that's it would it be possible to clean, or is it something I would just have to deal with?

Thanks in advance!

Should I replace the 12V on my 2023 Kona?

I purchased a 2023 Kona, limited trim a couple months ago. Third owner, it had 48k miles when I got it. Since then, there has been two times where I made a series of short drives in quick succession, and then upon turning the car back on got a bunch of warnings for the safety systems. Letting the car sit in utility mode for an hour fixed it in both cases, but I'm wondering if this is critical and something that immediately needs a new 12v battery. As far as I'm aware it is still the stock battery.

Thanks in advance!
