Career as a digital sculpter?

Hello all,

I have been sculpting digitally for a while now, approaching 2 years.
And i enjoy it very much, i would like to pursue this as a career.
As of now i have only done personal projects.
I would like to specifically sculpt miniatures for tabletop games.
And possibly bigger miniatures and busts for painting.
Due to life i have had no time for playing ttgames. so im a bit behind the scene.
It is just the idea of creating my own designed characters that i really like.

I am approaching 40 and have a job.(I understand not to just quit the job.)
So all of the sculpting for now will be done in my free time.

Questions:

1.Would it even be possible to make a career in this field.?
Or is the market so overly saturated that it cant be done.

2.What field should i focus on. My focus would like for it to be tabletop minis. and busts for painting. But i don't know if that is a viable market anymore in this day and age. seeing as there are so many of these types of models. Would i waste time trying to do this path?

Summation: Are there viable ways to get into the industry working for myself?

Thank you for reading and future comments.
