I GOT IN!!!
I’m so happy, after the months of stress and uncertainty it feels good to take a breath :)) With 9 applications within Europe, I got 2 offers at around the same time, one in France and one in Germany :) For context, I am in physics with 0 publications, and I am a foreign student. My undergraduate GPA was a 3.6/4, and my US equivalent master’s GPA was around 3.75/4 (without my thesis grade accounted for yet). I interviewed for 4 of the 9 positions, almost got 1 (but turns out they had an in house student they went with) and then got discouraged from that, but finally got 2 offers and I’m going for the one in Germany! The offer is just all around better and the other one had a couple red flags so it ended up being an easy choice. But gah finally, the wait is over!
