Wildes on AJ Brown

While I couldn't find the exact segments of the AJ Brown saga, I do remember that Wildes didn't necessarily like the drama he caused.

Additionally, Wildes is by far the most pro-Hurts guy on the show and has claimed for years that he does not get the respect he deserves. He loves Hurts' winning ability, leadership, and was the main pro-Eagles guy despite all the turmoil they had all season, including the horrific halves of football. Famously, Wildes is also Mr. QB Wins.

To take all that and say AJ Brown, a guy who has said and demonstrated time and time again that "I don't care about the wins, I want my numbers," will be happy if Drake Maye sticks to the press conference he had about throwing it to the open man is an asinine opinion.

Whether it be the Panthers in the regular season in 2024, the Packers wildcard game, or even after the SB, Brown repeatedly showcased that he's all about the numbers. Brown and Hurts were good friends, whose relationship soured over this issue. To say that AJ won't have those issues because he had a Pats jersey as a kid and he liked Vrabel is truly doing a MIB-esque memory zap regarding everything related to Philly over the last 2 seasons.

Nick has had his homer moments, but in some convoluted way, some of them have made sense (I guess bears to the SB is a bigger homer moment). This one seems like an "unacceptable opinion", and makes me wonder if the show might just have too many homers now (Nick, Wildes, Danny).

Is Clutch Performance Predictable? Sources Say….Maybe

Being “clutch” is the biggest boogeyman in the NBA. Many consider it to be a gift, bestowed upon a select few by the gods.

Today, find out the truth. Is clutch performance simply a measure of sample size, or do a unique few truly rise above the rest when the game hangs in the balance?

LeBron's Move Cements the Opening Night Match-Up

This move basically stamped the opening night match, right?

In the 1st game of the 2026-27 season, the 2025-26 Champions, the New York Knicks, will take on the Philadelphia 76ers.

Brunson, OG, Bridges, and Towns vs Maxey, Brown, Bron, Embiid.

Additionally, while I don't imagine the regular season standings will reflect this, are the Knicks and 76ers the East's version of OKC & SA?

2 Teams that are clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the conference?

The 76ers are always a threat (until they get to Gm 6 and 7 of the 2nd round) w Embiid, and just added Brown and LeBron at the expense of Paul George. The starting 5 is now Maxey, Edgecombe, Brown, Bron, Embiid.

The Knicks just had one of the most dominant runs of all-time, and lost just one piece from their team. KAT as the hub unlocked a new level, and expect to see far more of that in the regular season too.

The Curse of Nick Wright vs The Football Gods (or FIFA's Team)

As has been well-documented, Nick has been on an insanely cold streak of picking events (that are not the finals. He got SB and NBA Finals both right) since the start of the NFL season.

Now, after Brazil was eliminated, he's shifted his support to Argentina. Many have believed that this WC is rigged/favorable towards Argentina, which is why I wrote FIFA's team in the brackets (I don't believe this theory).

Come Saturday, Nick believes in Argentina.

My question is, who's going to win it in the end? Will the Football Gods prevail, giving Argentina b2b World Cups since Pele, or will the Curse of Nick Wright continue its reaper-like streak, ending Argentina's run in horrific fashion?

Aren't the Celtics one of the Best NBA Franchises this Decade because of Analytics?

It's supposed to be this decade purely because of their style of play, but you can even restrict the timeline to just under Mazulla. They won a chip and went to the ECF, had b2b 60+ win seasons, and just won 50+ games w/o their best player.

Does Jaylen Brown not understand/not want to believe that analytics are a big part of the Celtics' success?

They were the ultimate 5-out spacing team under Mazulla, and have perfected the 3s or paint stuff. Over the last 4 years, the Celtics rank 1st, 1st, 1st, and 2nd in the NBA in 3s per game. Over this span, they have attempted 43.9 3s per game. To give some context, the Warriors rank 2nd with 42.14, and the Bucks rank 3rd with 38.5. The gap between the Celtics and the Bucks (5.4) is larger than the gap between the Bucks and the 25th-ranked Lakers.

Barring this year, they are consistently below 15th in the mid-range, playing even more into the analytics aspect of most efficient shots.

They have used analytics to its fullest potential (even though its sometimes their detriment), and have achieved an insane amount of success under Mazulla.

Edit: I seem to have written a post without the full context. I believed that Brown was responding to the remarks that he's not as valued as expected. I saw the "7th best player on a roster" stuff, but did not know that was the actual aim of his stuff.

The Utter Falloff of the Stars of the 2019 Draft

With the draft right around the corner, was listening to a podcast today that described offseason moves that all teams should make, and it surprised me how badly the 2019 draft is now discussed, especially compared to what it used to be.

The 2019 draft had 4 All-Stars: Zion, Ja, Tyler Herro, and Darius Garland

Of those 4, 2 have major injury/health/off-court concerns in Zion and Ja, while Garland had his issues this season and last season, forcing the team to trade him. Herro is a fine player who might be on the move if the Heat win the Giannis sweepstakes.

It's just shocking how bad the fall from grace is. Zion and Ja were supposed to be the next great American players, and now they're so bad that you might have to attach picks to get off their contracts.

The draft itself probably produced better role players than most others, but this might be the least star power of any recent draft (except the infamous 2024 draft). None of these guys are anywhere close to leading their teams to contender status, and if you exclude the 2024 draft, it might be the worst draft in recent history from a star player perspective. Their all-stars are all borderline candidates who likely may never make another all-star team.

Shockingly bad how Zion and Ja's careers have turned out, and while Zion had health issues that maybe weren't his fault (don't know the full story), Ja's issues, in my opinion, are all self-inflicted + health issues.

L2M Report Breakdown

For people who have not read the L2M, please go ahead and read it. There are some keys in the report:

  • The Stephon Castle out-of-bounds was incorrect. It could have been an offensive foul, but at the very least, he should have shot free throws.
  • Wemby should have been called for a defensive 3 seconds violation, resulting in a techincal foul (1 FT and possession).
  • De'Aaron Fox was not fouled on his final drive. The NBA deems it as "incidental arm contact", AFTER Anunoby dislodges the ball from his control
  • Jose Alvarado did not commit a backcourt violation (was explained by RJ but way too many people are still claiming it was)

I'm a Knicks fan. Yes, some of the officiating yesterday was one-sided towards us, but it has been against previous games, so it has evened out to some extent (especially the Jose foul on Wemby which should have been at least a Flagrant 1).

The calls in the final 2 minutes were 1-1 for both team, so they cancel each other out. Additionally, I don't believe the NBA has any reason to lie on the L2M, because its whole purpose is so that the fans can see where the refs fucked up, or at the very least, see the calls with time in hand.

Way too many people are focusing just on the Castle missed call, while conveniently ignoring the missed call on Wemby, so the purpose of this is to shed light on the report for those who are not interested in going through the whole thing.

Parkins done for WC?

I don't catch the show on TV and usually watch tit hrough youtube/listen to the podcast, so wanted to know if Parkins appeared on today's show, and if he will appear during the World Cup and the show's morning slot?

They said the show is from 10-12, so that means no OT. I'm assuming he's not going to show up (bummer as I would have loved to see him eat his words as a Knicks fan), but just wanted some clarification from those who watch on TV.

Did Danny have the Worst NBA Picks?

I have never seen someone be so confidently, arrogantly, brashly wrong about both conference finals and the NBA championship.

He kept on saying its a fluke, Big 4 will beat the Knicks, Thunder are inevitable, Knicks just aren't that good, Spurs will mollywhop the Knicks in 5, and has been wrong every single step of the way.

As a Knicks fan, it's great to see him finally understand what Nick's been tryna tell him day after day, segment after segment.

How Many Wins is an IPL Player Worth?

I have always asked myself, who is the most valuable player in the IPL?

Yes, counting stats are helpful, but they lack the context required, and you cannot tell which impacts winning and which don't.

Here's my attempt at building a statistic that answers it for every IPL player, across every season since 2008, quantifying value as the number of wins a player adds to his team.

The full breakdown, including the greatest IPL seasons ever recorded and the most valuable players of the 2026 season, is on the link.
