[Discussion 1/7] Bonus Book - A Parade of Horribles by Matt Dinniman (DCC 8) - BEGINNING through Chapter 11

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helper. You will always find people who are helping.” - Fred Rogers

Welcome to the FIRST discussion of the 10th floor, Crawlers!! HOW DO WE FOLLOW FACTION WARS??? WE’RE OFF TO THE RACES!!!

🐾😼 Discussion: BEGINNING through Chapter 11

HERE. WE. GOOOOOOO!!🎭⚔️

Welcome to the 10th Floor, Crawlers!!! Carl, Princess Donut and the rest of the Princess Posse are dropped onto the 10th Floor after the fallout of Faction Wars and Justice Light’s final trap, causing the realm of the Nothing to break into the rest of the World Dungeon, including the 18th Floor. Before the Floor can begin, Princess Donut meets with her lawyer, Princess Chandra, a naga who it turns out is Carl’s wife because he killed Rishi during Faction Wars. Princess Chandra threatens to use Carl and Princess Donut for their wealth, but Princess Donut turns it on her by not so subtly threatening her back with a bounty on Princess Chandra. As the 10th Floor begins, Carl finds that there are 5,501 crawlers remaining, meaning 75% of the crawlers alive from Faction Wars took deals at the start of the Floor.

The Floor is a race styled event, with choices between biological mounts or mechanical. Carl and Princess Donut opt for mechanical and they are given a food truck with never ending frozen chicken and tater tots, much to Mongo and Ren’s joy. Mordecai is now a shadow mimic which causes some issues. Zev is now the announcer, as Cascadia is…indisposed. The racers will get information from their nav device and they will have to fight mobs in order to finish the race. Also, they cannot come in last.Carl quickly realizes that, while most of their opponents are NPC teams, if they lose too many of them, they’ll have to race crawler teams. It's off to the races for our heroes! Will they be victorious or be left in the dust??? And what’s going on in the rest of the Dungeon?? How will it affect our heroes as they race through the 10th Floor?!?!?!
