What options do I have left for heavy bleeding?
I have been dealing with heavy periods and fibroids for years.
I've tried everything:
Hysteroscopic myomectomy for submucosal fibroid. 2cm remnant remains.
Open myomectomy for large subserosal fibroids (8 weeks ago) very successful. All bulk symptoms resolved.
3x failed IUD - expelled due to heavy bleeding and clots. 3rd try was last week. Was hoping after surgery the IUD would work this time but it rejected 24hours after insertion.
All of my symptoms are under control except the bleeding.
I have an appointment with my gyno in the morning. Not sure what to expect in terms of options. I'd like to look into things ahead of time..
I've already tried tranexamic acid and it didn't work. Birth control pills have had horrible effects on my mood in the past.
I want to keep my uterus.
I dont need to preserve my fertility. I am 42 yrs old.
What else could they possibly offer me at this point? I've looked into ablation but my fibroid remnant might make that ineffective.
Is anyone aware of other treatments for heavy bleeding? Anyone have an ablation with a small submucosal fibroid?
