Is this mainstream Hollywood?

I was so excited leading up to this movie. I cried the first time I watched the trailer. After watching it twice now, what a let down. It feels like a remake of E.T. in some way?

I fell asleep for most of it the second time. I could not tolerate the Hollywood spectacle. I considered leaving early as I was feeling tired, but I stayed. I had the little row to the side, off-center, towards the front where no one usually sits, all to myself, so I dozed off for periods of it. Definitely almost the entire first half. I was tired.

What’s good about the film? The idea, the concept. The action scenes are out of place, the characters, ugh. Emily Blunt is amazing, but horribly directed. Don’t get me started on the script.

Eh, I’m supposed to watch it one more time with a friend, and I may doze off for most of that, too.
