Did anyone rejoin their ex-company and leave within a year?

Has anyone rejoined their ex-company and then left again within a year?

How did recruiters or hiring managers react?

Did they question why you rejoined only to leave so soon?

What explanation did you give during interviews?

Did it affect your chances of getting shortlisted or receiving offers

Would love to hear from people who’ve actually been in this situation.

How do people actually reach 50 LPA?

I’m looking for advice from people who have successfully grown their compensation over the years.

I have around 5 years of experience and have switched jobs 3–4 times. In every switch, I got around a 30–40% hike. But despite multiple switches, my current CTC is still around ₹17 LPA.
When I see people with similar experience earning ₹40–50+ LPA, I genuinely wonder what they did differently.

Some questions I have:
Did you target specific companies (product companies, startups, MNCs)?
Did you make bigger jumps by negotiating multiple offers?
How did you prepare for interviews? What was your preparation strategy?
Did networking or referrals play a significant role?
Any mistakes you made that you would advise others to avoid?

I wanted to understand what practical strategies helped people break into the ₹40–50 LPA range.
Would really appreciate hearing your journey and any actionable advice.

Did i make a mistake by choosing low paying offer?

I’m looking for honest opinions from experienced folks because I keep second-guessing my decision.

I had another offer that paid around 5-6 lakh more in fixed salary, but it was from a service-based company where project allocation was revealed only after joining. I was worried about ending up on the bench, having to clear client interviews, or not getting a project at all.

Because of those fears, I chose another company that paid significantly less but seemed more stable.

Now I regret my decision almost every day. Looking back, I feel like I made the choice out of fear rather than logic. What makes it worse is that I’m worried this lower salary will also affect my next job switch, since future offers often build on your current compensation.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did you eventually get over the regret, or did it turn out to be the right decision? I’d really appreciate advice from people who’ve experienced something similar.
