He’s doing a lot better! Took him to his normal vet on Thursday because I wanted to make sure the emergency vet didn’t miss anything because he came in with what seemed to be stomach pain and I told them it seemed like his back was hurting him but they dismissed it and said it wasn’t that but after they released some gas they said he was doing good and then called me back later to tell me I was right about his back pain. I know my dog and it was frustrating that my concern was dismissed so that’s why I wanted to check with my normal vet just to be safe. He was on pain medication and then my vet gave him a steroid and that helped so much! It’s been 2 days of him not needing pain meds and he’s back to his playful self but of course being cautious so he doesn’t hurt himself! Thank you for all the love and support on my previous post!

It’s been a bit since I posted Taro but last night he was shaking in his back legs and was having some stomach pain and was releasing lots of gas so we took him to the emergency vet. His stomach was very full and and slightly enlarged so they wanted to keep him over night and I was hoping to hear better news this morning but they said he was still uncomfortable so they are mildly sedating him and putting a tube down his nose to get this gas released and doing an ultrasound after that. I want my baby home and have been crying because I want him to be okay and miss him so much already.💔
It’s so sad because this picture was at the vet and he was still a sweet and happy boy even being in pain🥺
Please send all your positive thoughts and prayers his way and that he will be okay and there won’t be anything else wrong. Please and thank you so much 😭💜

UPDATE- He had about 1 cup of gas taken out of him which is a decent amount for his size and he’s looser now and is feeling much better but they are keeping him a couple more hours to give him more meds and see if he eats. No findings of anything wrong in the ultrasound!!

UPDATE 2- now they are saying his spine is sore and I tried saying that earlier and they weren’t listening to me. They said he had gas and back pain at the same time and is curled up again so they are giving me him 2 weeks of Gabapentin and I gotta make sure he rests. I don’t want this to end up like a IVDD situation like my other Peke😭 I’m picking him up soon but please continue to send love and hope his spine heals also because my other Peke having that surgery was traumatic and I hope it’s just sore🥺🩷
