BHP’s $25m Threat to Albo | The West Report

West Report with the goods again.

So in short Federal Labor were looking at winding back subsidies to Gas and mining in budget. Mining lobby threatened Labor with a fight that as per West contact in parliament mentioned "We can’t afford another fight with BHP”. Gas reserve was the best they could do which was already in the works from last year.

Where does this leave us. I think continue with gas tax pressure online. Need to keep up the campaign for the next 12 months for the next budget. Keep up the campaign because then that would overpower any mining lobby campaign to derail anything like they did during Rudd/Gillard era.

Please note Norway like fund chance is gone it needed to happen in Howard's era. Taxing gas and reducing subsidies to the gas/mining companies will be a sugar hit one that needs to go into the renewable transition (Future made in Australia), the new revenue stream.

Who would be PM? you have to make sure you don't piss off the powerful sectors lest the apolitical Australians vote ON or Coalition because of the stupid ads that come out. But you need to take action otherwise long term economy loses its competitive edge sacrificing quality of life.

Trump has made the world trubo charge investment into Renewables

Sorry for the spam of links. But in response to the latest Shwarma Fm podcast the team mentioned a surge in global investment to renewables due to the Epstein war.

They are correct 87% increase in investment, India has investing hard and China is benefiting. The disruptions have forced the rest of the world to adapt to a new world with less oil. Below are links to articles that confirm the trend. Luckily we already on the train with Future made in Australia.

Tv ratings. 7 and 9 news remain the top 2 programs watched nationally

While majority have moved onto new media, there is still a good 6-7 million Aussies that watch some sort of news from ch9 or ch7.

Thought I would put this up here as just a reminder this is what we are fighting against when getting even the most moderate of changes to taxes.

Side note: Mate Tv sucks in Australia. When you realise you don't really watch FTA anymore and are too busy playing video games or watching Youtube videos.

All the morning shows this week

And that weird video from the lady who owns boost from her luxury car.

Remember Aussie dream is to own a home your own home. Not to be property owner. That is Jabba the Hutt level laziness that controbutes nothing
