Itinerary support
Hello,
Looking for some advice on itinerary and approach please.
Currently planning a trip to Sri Lanka with the current tentative plan in August:
Negombo (1 night) > Wilpattu (2 n) > Sigiriya / Habarana (3 n) > Gal Oya (3 n) > Nuwara Eliya (1 n) > Ella (3 n)>
Kandy (1 n) > Trinco (3) > Colombo (2)
A few notes:
- expecting to land late so thinking we stay 1 night in negombo then head to Wilpattu
- having a Safari around 7th/8th night is preferred (and prefer not to go to Yala)
- ideally keep the beach at the end of the trip just before Colombo before departing
There is quite a bit of driving required from what ive mapped and wondering if this is reasonably timed or will it feel very rushed? Are there better ways to travel?
Plan to have some time to just explore places like sigiriya and Ella and not just pack them with day trips etc.
Open to suggestions on places that aren't worth the trip or need more or less time. And does it tend to work out better to have a driver the whole time or at different stops as we need one mostly for long drives and the odd day trip?
Recommendations please on:
- good private drivers you've had experience with that are a bit like tour guides on the way and friendly and not force stops
- accommodation recommendations on any places
