Hii sweeties!!
I’m tired of all the constant tea, fan wars, drama, “my author vs your author” Olympics and people fighting like they’re defending family property 😮💨
So please… drop your BEST reads here 🫶
Wattpad, published books, AO3, Inkitt, webnovels, ongoing, completed.. anything
Tell me: the name, genre/trope and WHY you loved it. Was it the writing? The angst? Character development? Plot twists World-building? Or did it emotionally destroy you and rebuild you again?
I genuinely want good recommendations for once. Please save me from my reading slump. I hope I actually get replies this time 🥲
At this point some Wattpad readers defend authors the way paid PR teams defend celebrities 😭
The second you criticise a book, suddenly people start acting like you personally walked into the author’s house and set it on fire.
“This trope felt problematic.”
“ML was toxic.”
“The writing lacked depth.”
“This romance made me uncomfortable.”
And BOOM 💥
Now you’re jealous, jobless, miserable, illiterate, a bully, a hater, fatherless, nationless, and apparently responsible for destroying literature itself 😭
What’s funny is how some authors and fans scream about “kindness” and “mental health” while aggressively insulting anyone who simply had a different opinion. The victim card gets pulled out so fast you’d think readers committed a war crime by saying “I didn’t like this book.”
And the bootlicking is actually insane sometimes.
People will excuse ANYTHING if the author is popular enough.
Bad writing? “You just don’t understand deep literature.”
Problematic scenes? “It’s dark romance sweetie.”
No plot? “You lack reading comprehension.”
Criticism? “STOP BULLYING AUTHORS"
Like be serious for one minute 😭
Authors are not fragile gods sitting above criticism. Once you publish a story publicly, people are going to discuss it publicly. Some will love it. Some will hate it. Some will question it. That is literally how art works.
And honestly, the inability to handle criticism without immediately becoming defensive is what kills meaningful discussions in this community.
You can disagree without acting personally attacked. You can defend a book without insulting readers. And maybe, just maybe, not every negative opinion is “hate.”
Need recommendations for books that emotionally destroyed you but still had a happy ending
I want REAL angst… the kind that makes your chest hurt and keeps you staring at the ceiling at 3am… but with a satisfying/happy ending in the end. No AI slop please 🙏
And no unnecessary drama just for shock value
I want well written pain ✨
