Stateworker Sub Mods

What’s going on in the stateworker sub? Mods have began removing posts citing various sub rules, such as claiming posts are “political.” The latest post of a clip of Newsom discussing how cost of living has increased, which directly relates to the RTO EO, was removed due to it being “political.”

I’m not even being conspiratorial, but the mods not allowing posts like this is extremely concerning.

Fight is Over

Edit: I will keep paying my dues until the very end of this RTO fight, which is likely beyond July 1st. Once the fight is over, and if we don’t come out on top, I’m dropping.

One year ago, unions settled for a one year RTO delay while also accepting PLP. They shoved this to us as a win. Let’s not even mention dropping the PERB lawsuits, which very likely could have worked in our favor.

During the one year delay, what exactly did any of the unions do to prepare for the obviously inevitable pursuit of RTO? Please, tell me.

In the past month, my union’s update continues to be “we sponsored AB 1729.” Am I supposed to be satisfied with this? While WE were the ones that relentlessly called our representatives to persuade them to support this bill (thanks to our fellow redditor Teachtostate for leading this effort).

I’m simply tired of blindly supporting our unions while we receive nothing in return. They donate to candidates, including Newsom, instead of allocating funds to have professional negotiators.

For what it’s worth, I’m very pro union. So the rhetoric of “you’re anti union” is a joke. I just call a spade a spade. And in this case, it’s that our unions are underperforming.

Unions and RTO

Where are the unions at with contract negotiations, specifically for RTO?

They sent emails back in February/March but I have not heard anything since.
