A question regarding Thoth
The text translated from polish: "Why Toth, the god of knowledge, was also a joyfull companion?: Thoth, god of wisdom and sciences, was often depicted with a head of an Ibis and with a quill in hand. However sometimes he took a form of a baboon and acted like a clown". The quote is from the polish version of the book: " L'Egypte: Pour répondre aux questions des enfants" (couldn't find an english version)
There isn't anything else written about this topic and it is somewhat vague. I had this book as a kid and liked the idea since I like the trope of a wise goofball.
The thing is I couldn't find anything that even suggested him being really joyfull or that the baboon form represented that. Is there something i'm missing (like anything that can suggest or says about something like that) or is it a misinterpretation from the author?
