Kinda new football fan (HELP)
Hey Madrid fans, my name is Jordan. I’m 22 always been a huge American football and basketball fan. The two teams I support are the Green Bay Packers,Michigan Wolverines and Milwaukee Bucks we’ve had highs and very painful Lows that being said my introduction to your guys’s beautiful sport was 2014 World Cup Brazil versus Germany. I watched all the 2022 most of this year’s however I did miss 2018 besides the final that being said I’ve never gotten into football my barber who’s from Iran has been cutting my hair since I was 10 he’s always wanted me to pick a club and specifically Real Madrid because he’s a diehard Madrid fan and so is half of the barbershop guys in there i’ve had signs that’s pointed me towards being Real Madrid fan without even realizing it I thought Jude Bellingham is an awesome player and then where I found out he played at made it better. Of course Mbappé is exciting. I would always for years see clips of José talking his talk and I love that from a manager, so I decided to look up who he coaches and I found out that he is now the Real Madrid Coach. my buddy and I wanna pick different clubs so we can root against each other when it starts. He picked Manchester city already, but I’m kind of caught in a dilemma because I’ve heard from people that I’m a pain wagon and a glory hunter because I wanna root for Real Madrid. I admittedly don’t wanna be labeled that even though it shouldn’t matter. I decided one day I wanted to pick an elite club because I need a break from rooting for a team that goes through more lows than highs. It feels like and that’s what I get from most of my sports teams outside of 2021 Milwaukee Bucks champions and 2024 Michigan Wolverines champions, but that came through decades of pain so bandwagon is not in my blood. I just don’t wanna feel guilt being a new European football fan and having to hear it in communities I genuinely want your guises opinion. I probably sound like a stupid American lol. Side reason why I thought maybe not picking Real Madrid is because the Premier league does seem interesting to me a little more than La Liga because of more competition but I’ve been getting a Ronaldo haircut since I was 10 years old and I would literally say that to Issa my barber I was doing that before I even cared about soccer so maybe it’s a sign that Real Madrid has always been home to me. Let me know if I sound delusional or like a bandwagon fan because I wanna go through the highs and lows with everyone else. I don’t wanna be a snobby American non-ball knowing fan.
