So I’m graduating with Masters in Behavioral Neuroscience after a funding loss for my PhD. I have been applying to similar research jobs from April 5-6. Before that I applied to some clinical and sales work. Not heard back from a lot besides some which were similar to my experience but required much more years of experience. I have some weirdly specific surgical skills, which I do feel like is transferable but not applicable. Now my questions are:
How often do I hear back from the application?
How do I network? I do not even know where to go networking? I went to conferences and I applied to those companies but they have no work that is similar to my needs.
I have tailored my resume, CV and cover letter for every application, and I have used AI to track changes and re-edit some of my experiences to match the needs. What more should I do?
Also why are most experiences match rate shows that I am overqualified. Am I doing something wrong?
