Shelving

I did do a search first on google and this group, but not finding what I’m looking for. What kind of shelving WITH DOORS do you recommend? I have limited space and don’t want ugly butt shelves filled with 5 gallon buckets hanging out next to my couch in the living room. 😂

HR only policy question about probation…

Hey everybody, ever since that executive order came out last year about probationary periods it seems like there’s a lot of confusion about how to move forward with some things. I was just talking to somebody in my region about whether someone being selected under the interchange agreement would have to serve a probationary period. They referenced a WMC training that stipulated that someone selected under interchange would not have to serve a probationary period, however, that training referenced the civil service rule 6.7 which really doesn’t have anything to do with probationary periods. Additionally, a lot of our guides still reference five CFR 315 sub part H which doesn’t exist anymore. There were questions that were asked during the training about whether or not someone moving from one occupation series in hybrid 38 to another would have to redo a trial period. They never answered the question on that. So I guess I am just asking how everyone in the region is handling these types of situations. What do you do for your folks and interchange that get selected from a hybrid 38 position to a title five position? Do you make your hybrid employees redo trial periods if they move to different occupation series in hybrid excepted service? When you are talking on prior time, are you only counting time that was rendered immediately prior to the new appointment? I ask this last question because the case law that they rely on for this particular guidance doesn’t seem to have anything to do with probation per se either.

Consultants, how are we doing?

Since the folks who have been working at the SBU‘s for the last six years are now suddenly thrown into the position of having to be expert consultants on topics related to recruitment, I am wondering how this is going for everyone. I have had the experience of being on more than one SBU and most of them only have experience with WOC, fee basis, and trainees. How are you managing this right now? What kind of guidance or training have you received from your leadership? Or has your VISN or your friends VISN just simply delayed the consultation role? Or has your VISN or your friends VISN decided to just have the R&P folks continue with their regular consultations like before? Also, I would like to add that this is bullshit considering the SBU‘s were completely ignored for the last six years. It’s not their fault, but they don’t know anything related to recruiting.
