Deleting Your Responses

Why do people on this forum debate with you and then delete their responses? It’s incredibly weird and really makes you not want to engage with people on here. Please, have the conviction and belief to say things with your chest and stand on it or don’t respond

Time to Consider Tigrayan’s?

I’ve been looking to continue my culture, lineage, Heritage and faith with a beautiful Eritrean Orthodox woman but I’m at a point of giving up. Curious if anyone has married a tigrayan and what the experience has been like ? I’ve never had an issue with tigrayan’s but I’ve always put my own first and they’re close. Additionally, I feel like Eritreans don’t marry Eritreans anymore so there’s no point in holding on. Thoughts?

Is The Grass Greener Outside of Eritrea?

I’ve come to notice both in person and online that Eritrean’s believe that other communities don’t have the issues that we have or that they believe these countries are better than us in other ways. Whether it’s related to racism, sexism, gossip, gender wars, our parents and upbringing, you name it. Ultimately, I’m seeing the impact of this on our community as it is becoming even more divisive and segregated.…. I’m not saying we don’t have issues exclusive to our community like I do believe we are more divided, especially politically than the average country, but it seems like every single thing mentioned is as if Eritrea is the only one with these problems and that if you went to other communities, these problems wouldn’t exist. That said those issues definitely need to be addressed even if they aren’t exclusive to Eritrea but it’s just the way people speak aboutIt is as if we are less than others is mind-boggling to me. I’m curious where this comes from and what the solution is?

I was never under the impression that Eritreans were less successful than others like a lot of people in our community. But wow, I had no idea how many millionaires and family businesses were in our community, especially in Africa. Heartwarming to see honestly. And to those of you who don’t think the diaspora matters, I hope you realize how important the collective economic power of the diaspora is. We will one day make Eritrea a place with huge economic potential.

I think Ethiopia and Eritrea reunifying (in some form) is more likely than people think.

A 2026 study from the Policy Studies Institute estimates Ethiopia loses $19B–$31B annually from being landlocked—that’s 13%–23% of GDP. Not just port fees, but slower trade, higher costs, and lost growth. That kind of drag isn’t sustainable long-term.

Now add something people overlook:

There’s been a rise in Eritrean–Ethiopian relationships and marriages, especially in the diaspora. And not many Eritreans marry each other. Socially and culturally, the populations are still deeply tied.

On the flip side, Eritrea is dealing with economic stagnation and population decline (migration + low growth), which creates its own long-term pressure.

So you’ve got:

•	A huge economic incentive (Red Sea access for Ethiopia)

•	Strong cultural overlap

•	Demographic and economic pressure on Eritrea

•	A shared history that never fully disconnected

A lack of opportunity and infrastructure

Politics is the obvious barrier, but zoom out 20–50 years it’s not crazy to see some kind of economic union, federation, or even reunification being seriously considered.
