are pups harder to tame?

i have a 2 month old and two 3 month old boys and they don’t really let me pet them, i give them treats and whenever they eat they allow me to pet them a little and they can eat on my palm. Just wondering will they come to trust me more as they grow older?

i have 3 male gerbils, 2 of them are 9 1/2 weeks old and the other is around 7 weeks+ days old. The two older ones are 41g and 42g with the smallest being 36g. I’m not sure if they’re the right weight since when i asked ai it told me they are underweight😭
