Crimson Desert is just too much!!
Don’t even get me started on various aspects of crimson desert. I love the immense open world exploration experience. Kudos to the devs for putting in the work. The combat system is good as well and the story is decent so far.
But the game mechanics is a headache. Quest designs are basically a crash course for turning you into Sherlock Holmes like it expects you to know everything and solve a puzzle every 2 missions. You literally can’t solve most of the puzzles without looking them up on YouTube.
You spend time and your collectibles on the main character kliff then suddenly, the game goes full on GTA 5 character switch mode and switches you into a low level character that you have no idea how to play with and most of your good weapons which (you spent time in collecting and upgrading) is not even usable in a boss fight.
I’m currently in the Demeniss phase of the storyline and damn, the whole region is just 90% hostile soldiers and 10% civilians like WTF? Like everywhere our character goes, there are just soldiers to kill you lol.
The boss fights in this game are another issue, i feel they’re generally a bit too overpowered even on a normal difficulty. I remember fighting Ludvig and damn, he turns into THORRR in the second phase of his boss fight like he dodges all your attacks and becomes untouchable.
Overall, I like the gameplay. It’s addictive especially finding hidden weapons and armours across the large map. Graphics are also top tier but quest designs, controls and mechanics are very painful in this game. It’s like a love hate relationship with this game.
Update : I finished the main story yesterday, and I gotta say the story was even worse than I thought. The whole sequence of Delesyia and the robots was just a bit too much for me, I’m just so disappointed in the story man. Gonna continue with the remaining side quests.
