Hey girls, help me check out this bag.
I picked up this Birkin while shopping in China, and I’ve completely fallen for this pink Swift Birkin 25. Unfortunately, the leather along its sides has minor wear, and the texture on all the corners has dulled. The last photo I attached is an identical bag I found online — same exact model, just preserved in far better overall condition.
Truthfully, I’ve gone down such a deep rabbit hole digging into Birkin craftsmanship details, I know way more about this design than I ever imagined I would. From what I’ve researched, this style features the iconic Eclair zipper hardware, a staple classic silhouette that stays popular year-round. If anyone with expert knowledge of Birkin construction and finer details has extra insights to share, I’d absolutely love to hear them!
I plan to send this bag to a professional leather spa service. I’m hoping the artisans can at minimum recondition and repair the worn corner leather, plus refinish and reinforce the faded, oxidized metal hardware. My ideal goal is to restore it to the flawless polished look seen in the reference photo, yet Swift calfskin is extremely soft and delicate, so I’m unsure how much restoration the leather can take.
