The edges of this dime are raised and sharper than usual, the edge marks are gone. How do you think this happened?

This dime has lost its edge marks, but the edges are taller than any other dime and feel sharper. How do you think this happened?

There are two nails in photo. Cut nail on left and a folded over nail that seems to have been made like that since there is a head folded on it too. I am hoping for more information. Found metal detecting with owners permission at a fire pit next to fallen over building in northern California, earliest western settlement date around 1850. Owner does not desire to keep any of the two picklejars (big) of nails we found. This one was unique.
