Help me fix my Yamaha VSS 30

Hey everyone,

I bought a Yamaha VSS 30, well actually I bought two (VSS 200 as well) and I'm having the same problem with both of them - which is that the RCA input does not work. On the VSS 200 I could get sound in but it would be incredibly distorted and glitchy. On the VSS 30 I can not get any sound, and now even the mic doesn't work (it either does not record or pitches the sample and adds heavy aliasing).

To sample using the RCA input I've tried going out of headphone out, and line output of my appollo twin x (starting at low volume and slowly working it up to high volume). I've also tried sampling from my 1010 black box. I'm using a hosa jack to RCA cable.

Google is saying that the OP Amp was fried by using the Appollo twin x at high volume, but I havent seen anyone else mention this and I've read pretty much every post. Other people have mentioned that it could be the physical switch going from RCA to the mic (still doesn't explain the other issues - or why it happened to both). Finally some people have replaced the DRAM but I don't know if that would solve all my issues either?

I've returned the VSS 200. But I'd like to get to he bottom of the VSS 30.

So have other experienced this? If so has anyone found a solution?

Tdlr: sampling doesn't work on VSS 30 both through mic (pitched down and a distorted) or through the RCA (does not register sound). Worked fine before I used the RCA.
