New recs
Hey everyone,
New here and loving the recommendations I am getting. Years ago I read the gender swap Twilight called “Life and Death” and absolutely loved it. I have read it multiple times since and also read the fanfic rewrites of the rest of the series with the gender swap characters. Recently I wanted to discover more in this genre of a weaker mmc who is like a normal human and a stronger supernatural fmc. Obviously as it is quite heavily recommended on here I started with Charlotte’s Reject and I found a very similar level of enjoyment, reading it in a day, and missing the characters so much when I finished. While there were some cringe moments like “my wild queen” I was absolutely enthralled and loved the spice build up. Then I moved onto Surrendering to Scylla which while I enjoyed I didn’t get as much into it with the full domination spice, but I still loved the characters.
With that being said I have gone heavy on this stuff recently and I tried to start “rise of the strongest girl next door” and found I couldn’t get into the writing as much because it seemed a lot more jokey (not that I hate it but it was a weird transition). So what I am asking for is recommendations for more of this type of thing with a strong fmc who is possessive and protective of the mmc, and a mmc who is weaker. Preferably a fmc who is supernatural or superpowered (not a requirement but must be stronger) and a mmc who is weaker and needs protection but isn’t always afraid or constantly self loathing (a little bit but not a lot)(the self loathing in Surrendering to Scylla was a bit much for me).
