The hairstylist who did my extensions left my hair at two distinct lengths — is this normal?
Tried extensions for the first time at a salon I found that appeared to have good reviews.
Initially left feeling very pleased about the final outcome. Also tipped an amount that came to be about ~29%. (The reason for including this will make sense below.) The first picture was taken by the stylist when they finished.
I washed my hair a few days later, and the length of my hair made me look like I had a wig on or something. My natural hair looks like a “main section” followed by the extensions, if that makes sense. I haven’t been able to wear my hair down because of how silly it looks, and I’m not one who likes curling my hair. I also live a distance that requires me to fly back to where the salon is, so this hasn’t been a quick-fix situation.
Additionally, I feel like I clearly communicated what I wanted to the stylist since I sent two pictures ahead of time. One was for the color, and the other was for the style (I basically told her that I planned on wearing it down on a daily basis.) I don’t want to assume intentions, but I low-key wonder if she curled it at the end to try to hide the length difference. (Now I can clearly tell from the picture, but in the moment I just went with the way she wanted to style it since i knew that a curling iron wasn’t anything permanent. It was also past the salon’s closing time, and it had been a really long day for them.)
I guess im just trying to get input from the pros on this length issue and what a reasonable solution would be. They said they’ll cut it when I can return but at full charge. My husband has been saying make the salon deduct the haircut fee out of the tip but I’m not too sure.
Thank you
Edit: the screenshot with two photos are the ones I sent to the stylist to show her what I wanted in terms of color (top picture) and style for everyday (bottom picture) — they’re not of my hair
