Hello I need some advice on joining a band with of my friends I been playing bass since February and I’m pretty good but I have no idea about about music theory is that gonna hold me back?

Yesterday I was on TikTok and I seen a video about kurt and I saw the comments and there were pictures of kurt cobain it’s hard to explain it was the elvis Presley meme but kurt cobain I wonder if kurt cobain would find it disrespectful or goofy now I’m not sure if they were trying to make fun of kurt cobain or they were just genuinely trying be funny 🤷🏻 I also seen a comment saying kurt would laugh I have no idea if he would laugh if he was alive would he laugh at the picture?
