Please Help Me Love Bowdoin
Hi all. I am am 99% sure i am attending Bowdoin in the fall, and Im honestly scared. When I visited Bowdoin for admitted students days, i felt it wasnt really for me. here are my apprehensions.
- Its in a small town, so there wont be anything to do
- The intense weather. What do people do for fun when its snowing? (im from LA so i know NOTHING about snow)
- the student body didn't seem as happy or collaborative as some other LAC i visited.
- I didn't get a good sense of what people do for fun, or if Bowdoin has a good social scene
- Is there any local public transit ?
- Are there things for students who are not so outdoorsy to do?
My first choice school did not offer me any financial aid, and I am very disappointed. Bowdoin is my best option cost-wise, so I am trying to get excited about it, but i'm also scared and worried that I might not be happy there. PLEASE let me know: what are the best things about Bowdoin? What should I look forward to? How is the polisci/ Government program? Are you happy here?
